That’s a wrap on week 2 at the Wayne YMCA. The number of volunteers tripled this week, as many of our incoming freshmen lent a hand. This week, we assembled holiday food boxes for Passover, Easter, & Eid Mubarak. In total, the team made 92 holiday boxes as well as an additional 60 non holiday food boxes to bring our grand total to just over 150 food distribution boxes!! Big thanks to the parents that pitched in to help, too! Lastly, thank you to Guy Giordano, Robbie Leszkowicz, & Jonnie Mongelli, who have shown great leadership these last 2 weeks. Congratulations to the Wayne Hills Marching Band led by Band Director Matt Paterno, who earned first place finishes at the Jefferson Band Competition, the Ramsey Band Competition as well as at the Midland Park Band Competition, where they also won Best Overall Band. They also received a coveted Gold Rating at the New Jersey Music Educators State Marching Band Festival, and earned the Championship at the 2021 Tournament of Bands in the Best Music Division. #waynehillsband
